Dear friends
As you might have figured out by my user name. i own a RS43 and am very happy with it. I have a .12R SC and a 2 speed. I have a question about the shifting of my 2 speed and I'm sure you have heard plenty about the problems people have with their tranny. I knew my tranny wasn't shifting when it would accelerate strongly and then stop accelerating at maybe 20mph. i adjusted the spring and when it took off it sounded like VTEC in a honda. The RPMs would climb normally and then the motor would scream. I am pretty sure this is the shifting but am not quite sure. Yes speed would increase. :) But i recently heard a TMAXX shift and his RPMs dropped and then picked up. i have not run the car yet with the .12 and was wondering if the spring made that big a deal. Any help would be appreciated . Thanks a bunch:wedgie:

Sounds to me like the car is supposedly shifting, but instead of going into 2nd gear, it goes into "neutral"

Heya Tallman, Well there should have been two springs that came with your kit when you bought it. You didn't say whether you got the RTR version or the SS version but none the less there should have been a black spring and a silver spring. For a motor over 1HP you should be using the black spring as it allows more tension before it shifts. It will take the grunt of a higher horsepower engine. The silver spring is for 1hp and under. Hope that helps. You should inspect the spring and see which one is in there. If you have the proper spring in there you should consult your manual and see how many turns out it advises and tune from there. Good luck.
