I was out running my revo yesterday, it was running pretty good plenty of smoke, so I bring it in to temp and it reads 295* I remember reading that these mill like to run hot, but is that too hot? It had pretty good high end, but the low end didn't have much power. Is this typical of a 2.5r mill?

The more I run this thing the more I love it, I wrecked BAD many times yesterday with no problems but I think Its going to need a TM or an RB in the spring though.

If you were hitting 290 right after pushing the hell out of it @ WOT for a while its fine. If you are at that temp after normal operation (Whatever that is :D ) You may want to back the HSN off a 16th and see what it looks like.

If the low end isn't putting out for you, try a 16th in on the LSN and see if it helps. Make the 2 separate adjustments at different times so you can monitor the results separately. If the LSN adjustment doesn't give you the desired power, you may want to drop a tooth on the bell.

Temps were anywhere from 270 - 295 and that was after 7-8 min on the track. Honestly I think I was a bit lean on the LSN. I'm thinking thats why my temps were up.

I say your fine if your trailing smoke. Mine was a little erratic, so much so, towards the end of it's useful life I just made it was leaving good smoke. My fuel tank o-ring did me mine in.

VB, you're looking for 275 ideally, but if your dirt was thick or a lot of WOT, 290 is not too bad. Basedupojn your loss of low end power, though, I agree with you, the LSN was a bit too lean. Sounds like your HSN is ok as you still made a smoke trail.

Come spring, get a new mill. It will be night and day for that rig. I loved using my 2.5r, but once I swapped up to the RB, wow.

that mill doesn't last long at all if you want to get any real performance from it....I've heard 5 gallons from some guys but I'd have a real hard time swallowing that if they are getting what racers consider "real performance" from it......if that was 295 after a tank or almost full tank you're fine.....I always temped mine (the 2.5 not the 2.5r) at half tanks and looked for 250-260.....they just don't last very long is all....

the 2.5R is considerably better, trust me! It really does perform well. I would guess I had about 5 gallons through mine when it went tits up. That was as I said due to my fuel tank o-ring and multiple runs where the thing would die at 350 before I found the culprit. On the hotter side... Yes! But really if your trailing smoke I'd run it as is into the ground.

I'm not too worried about the life of it the compression is still really strong and I have a spare p/s set sitting on my bench. And who knows what santa will bring. :D Hopefully I'll get a few more days of runtime before the real cold sets in.

As the truck sets right now I can't consistantly keep up with my dad's MGT, but he is running a sh 28, which my guess is he as at least double the power I have. So I have to work on setup and do some fine tuning and I'll hopefully keep up.

Work your setup and tuning, with the 2.5R I was able to beat every Savage and LST on the track and could hang with the .18's

Mr. Moore and Scott Beiswinger run at mills pond, I talk to scott alot he runs a pretty tricked Revo, (I think he got 2nd in the '04 MT nationals) I'll ask what setups the top dogs are running next time I see him....I'm hoping saturday will be a good day to race again.....

That would kick ass Eric!

I have another question for you guys. When I'm on my lid for more then 3-5 seconds it stalls out 5-10 seconds after I get going again. I can't seem to figure out why. Do you think its because the LSN was lean?

I didn't know bobby drove a revo. I guess you learn something new every day.

I think he's doing a mugen truggy now.....I've actually never seen him race MT except one night and I think it was a kyosho truggy.....usually races buggies at mills.....Scott races/raced the Revo but it was like watching a really awsome hopped up truck lay waste to the field.....he was the first guy I saw eat everyone's ass w/ a revo....and now he runs a truggy of some kind......I don't really follow the pro circuit, it was pretty funny when these guys I just thought were locals talking about the big race last year and I asked how they did.....talk about pin drop quiet (AT A TRACK EVEN) and everyone turned to look at me like I had 3 heads growing from my armpits.....I didn't know there was even a national race back then....DOOOOAAHHHH!!!!
anyway I talk to scott whenever I see him at the track, try and pick his brain on MT setups....he always seems to have the setup down to a T....him and Rich....the guy that got booted from here over alot of confusion over the new selling rule......they are probably the fastest MT guys racing that I know.....anyway, I'll see what he recommends for the revo setup.....but be preparred for like 4 different setups for different track types....
