Ok, so i found out my old motor was junk so i bought a new 2.5R on ebay for $94, It didnt come with an exhaust or EZ start but it was the cheapest new engine i could find. I need to take the flywheel and other parts off and swap them on the new engine and i was wondering if there was an easy way to go about it.

Pop the e clip off and pull the clutch. Take the flywheel nut off and remove the flywheel. Make sure to pop the collet on the new engine and reverse the process.

Yeah go with what matt said plus the flywheel will probably be on there tight just wack it from behind a couple times it'll come off.

I like to use the cheap-o gear puller I got from Harbor Freight. Cost me $5 and it works every time and never damages anything. If you do the whack it off method....um.. did I say that out loud? Anyway.. Be careful not to hit the carb or drop the engine when it all comes apart....cast aluminum cracks pretty easy.

You can get a flat blade screw driver behind it and give it a twist. Use the biggest one you can get all the way in there. Do it evenly until it pops. A puller is by far the best method, though.

Nice guys thanx, i will put pics up as i go after this ill put the engine in the truck.
I Have heard alot of talk about the opti drive, What is that and what does it do? soon i wanna get a pull start once everything is going good after the break in. i herd they are easier and lighter.

The gear puller may be the most professional way to go.
Having said that, I use a hammer and a pin punch (3/16 or 1/4 inch work well) and tapping at back of the flywheel I then walk it around to push the flywheel off instead of prying it off with a screwdriver.
This way you don't run the risk of marring the engine.

The OptiDrive module is designed to prevent the transmission from changing direction (shifting into reverse while moving forward or vice versa) while the vehicle is in motion.
