I have found a used 2.5R from a guy at my dad's work. I think my dad said it he said it was around 3 years old (not sure). It has aluninum shocks, aftermarket pipe, and other things my dad's friend said (they are busy and not much time to explain). It has extra wheels and tires. It wasn't used very much or raced. I have a nearby track but have never had a nitro car but I would LOVE to race!!!!! I also will probably drive around in my short grass out back but not so much and I am not going to do any bashing.
He wants about $200 for it RTR and only needs fuel and batteries.

Should I get it or not?

What does the R in 2.5R stand for?

Thanks

$200 isn't a bad price,If your racing the though revo will out handle it.The 2.5R is the new race version i think. relabitlity and part's strength are somthing you should look into,My maxx use to break alot. Then i got smart and sold it.

That's my opinion of course.

If you use common sense then you should have NO reliability or durability issues with a MAXX. I found the only times my truck broke was when I did something really stupid like crash it into a curb, pole, or wall. The MAXX is claimed not to be as tough as a Savage, but you don't need a truck built like a tank if you know how to drive it right! As is with ANY model, if you constantly crash it into things, stuff is going to break. If smashing into things is your idea of fun, then don't get a MAXX. But if you can learn how to drive it right, by all means, get it! Also, when something does break, it is super easy to repair. You'll find it easy to work on with literally a ton of available hop-ups! Factory parts are plenty strong enough to handle the "abuse" dealt by a level headed driver and can take quite a bit of unusual punishment, as well. And the 2.5R mill is very reliable and easy to tune. Get it - you'll have fun. Also, the product support is unmatched!

Plain and simple DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY! The maxx is a money pit. Get yourself a revo either the 2.5r or 3.3 version and you will be much happier!

if ur getting an engine that has an aftermarket pipe they wont last as long from exp aftermarket stuff doesn't help,it makes it worse plus u can get a new one right out from the box for about $210 with trade in $240 without trade in u would b better off with a new engine.

What????

Geez guys, chill!

KKrazy; Is the Truck a T-Maxx with a 2.5R in it or is it a Revo.

$200 for an RTR Revo is a great price!

$200 for a T-Maxx...not too bad.

Mr T

The guy said it was a T-Maxx with a 2.5R in it i think. i need to get my dad to talk to the guy more but he has been busy sorry

$200 aint bad, but even so, i still would not do it over again with the maxx. Your wallet will thank you if you turn it down. If you need a traxxas, go with a revo!

$200 is a good price. i have the t-maxx 3.3 and the only breakage i have is when i do something stupid, like drive into a wall or curb. where i bash it at there is a 7 ft. ledge that i drive it off and it handles the jump with ease.

if you are wanting to race and be competitive then it isn't really a good choice. revos will whip up because that is what they are designed for.

for bashing and just having fun that is a super deal. maybe you can even see if he will take less? $150 or so?
