Is buying a 2.5 r blue cooling head worth it? will it be much better than the stock 2.5 head?

I've heard it helps, but for cheap money ($25 or so) you can get the ACNCM head off of eBay, and it's really the best for the money as far as I'm concerned.

It didn't make any difference on my S-Maxx. After a few roll overs 2 fins came loose from the head so I went back to stock. Like SmileyRacing said you should just get the ACNCM. Everyone that gets it seems to like it.

i like mine and swear by it. just keep the wheels on the ground though its not very strong

aww man forget that!! lol I spend more time upside down and flipping to be worry'n about a weak head.

Well scratch that one off the top of your list then. Buy Something stronger and worth your money. I like mine because I race it more than I jump it.

If you are worried about how the head looks, do not. It can still do its job with bent fins and even missing a few fins. I'd be more worried about the landings on the head causing issues with engine alignment and perhaps messing up the head to engine casing connection.

A cheap little mod involving zip ties can prevent some scratching to the head on those less than stellar landings, but if the original head does the job...save your money for a better servo or some other mod that might strengthen the truck.

Thats what I'm going to do, incase I can come across one for a good price.

If you are still running the stock head, save yourself some headaches and get the acncm head. Trust me, you won't be dissapointed!

Here is my opinion.

The stock Maxx head not the the R head is junk. The older head was made of a material that retains heat rather than disperse it. The new R head is made of machined alumium that allows the engine to cool off more. I have no experince with the R head just the Hardcore racing, MUTANT head. That is a great upgrade as well as the ACNCM head.

Just adjust your needles accordingly for the difference in temps. I know that on the Mutant head I was not getting up to operating temps as the head was cooling the engine down well.

Just get Head, I mean get a better head to get lower temps. Just because you get head doesn't mean you will run strong. Tuning the engine is a big factor. The misconception made is " I get this and my ride will run all the time and faster". Not quite true.
