RC Driving Style
Hey i found a used one from a lhs, they want 250.00 but i was told the owner will be a neg on that. See they take them in and sell them for people so i would think 10-20.00 off is fair. Now i was told it has a pull start and metal upper and lower arms . I think this is all around and the bulk is metal so with a little checking online even with it being the older not 2.4 truck it has 140.00 in metal parts . I was told it checked by replacing the glow plug and ran a tank. Now i will go in and see it start for my self and i want to make sure it can work as it should at temps in the 200 range or more. I am kinda nervous based on the motor , if the drive train is right and there is a few marks etc i could look past that. Now if they they do not want to fire it up and give a chance to get it up to operating temps should i pass? I do not want to sound rude to them as i would want to see it but its cold out and there is snow. So my girl said to me if they start it but there is no way to see it run i should get 24 hours to bring it back. does that sound fair? There is a spot i know up the road from them that is clear of snow but there is some water but there is a side walk with a over hang i know i can do a few speed passes and if it can not idle or drive right i would bring it back. I just am kinda unsure with this hobby most of the time it is sold as is which i can understand but i am going with a lhs to avoid getting f-ed over ya know?

You need to find out what brand the aluminum “upgrades” (arms/bulks) are.
I personally would never pay over $100.00 for a stock 2.5 and that’s if it were in very good condition (engine included). Unless it has the best aluminum arms (very doubtful) they are a downgrade IMO.

Post some pics if you can before you pull the trigger.
