ok so i got this truck off of a buddy. and when i got it he said it had a newer motor with about 9 tanks of gas threw it its a revo 2.5r

he said put a new glow plug in it and should be good to go. well i played with it for about 45 min trying to get it to start with old glow plugs he sent me that looked brand new i would get a little brap but nothing.
put new plug in and still nothing then put another new plug finally started after another 20 min

took it out it ripped ran about 5 tanks of gas in it ran awsome had alot of bottomend alot of topend no problems at all, well i left went home. put afterrun oil in it and left it go

went to start it today and same thing wont start now. i tryed every glow plug not even a single brap. whats going on carb settings are very close to stock,

it turns over i have checked the cap in the carb its about 1-2 mm and i also heated the motor and glow plug with a hair dryer. blue line is fine even with the 2 new glow plugs still wont fire.

WHAT AM I MISSING

before i get bashed.

brand new fuel, 2 brand new glow plugs. carb is not clogged, motor has good compression, fuel is getting to the carb even took the air filter off to dump fuel into it still no start, i have adjusted the hsn lsn and nothing, didnt help at all.

i am going to order a new 2 more glow plugs and a am glow plug starter and see what happens from there.

but when it did start it ran like i stole it. running a tad rich but better safe than sorry

evertything on the truck is stock
other than the springs on the breaks.
will be doing the exhust mani modd when i get it running.

It's sometimes difficult to tell exactly what is going on when you're not seeing the vehicle run in person.
Do you have a temp gun and if so, what temp are you running at?
You mentioned that the carb settings are close to stock.
That's fine for the LSN, but sounds rich for the HSN - which is where the temp gun comes in.
Once you got it running does it hold an idle or does it die if you're not moving or when you hit the brake?

Since you got it running and it ran fine, it sounds like you're major issue is with getting it started.

Step by step, here's how I start a vehicle.
1. It's fueled and both transmitter and receiver are off.
2. Body off, I put my finger over the exhaust stinger and watching the fuel line running to the carb using the starter I turn it over until the fuel just reaches the carb.
3. Body on - turn transmitter on - turn truck on - in that order.
4. Put glow plug igniter to the plug. I use a rechargeable glow plug igniter with a meter. That way I can tell if it or the plug are going to be an issue.
5. Kick it over and it should start right up.
6. If it doesn't start in a reasonable amount of time - then my guess is that you have other issues.

Before you start it make sure the fuel line is empty, then take your pressure line off the pipe leaving it attached to the tank. Now blow into that hose you will see the fuel heading for the carb. Listen closely when you hear the fuel hit the carb blow for only 1 or 2 seconds more. Now it is primed.

As opposed to how 2revo1maxx described, I'd rather let the EzStart or Rotostart handle the priming duties (see step #2) - plus I zip tie my fuel and pressure tubes - but I'm guessing that he'd agree with me that it looks like a lack of priming the fuel up to the carb is where we're both leaning towards as being your issue.

Yeah the priming is a matter of preference....I'm too cheap to stray from a pullstart...But it's a likely problem. Also I forgot to mention that dumping fuel in the carb is a bad idea, it will hydro-lock a GOOD engine. Also instead of after run oil try wd-40 for short term storage you can almost run an engine on it plus it fights moisture and you can start it right up.

ok well.. i know i was priming it rite. cause i was getting fuel.. i figured it out comes to find out my glow plug ign.. was cutting in and out when i had it on the motor plugs would lite fine but when i put the plug into the motor didnt work got a am ign. and problem solved starts up.. now having about 2 hrs pissing me off  and about 12 glow plugs. i got it going again, soo i guess i got my own ?? rite (for once) haha

That's why I have a glow plug igniter with a meter on it. It's saved me lots of frustration.
Glad you figured it out and got it running.

thats the smae thing i got one with a gauge on it. but its a pain in the butt to start it its like ok old this hold that and press i like pressing haha.. (lazy)
