Recently, I had to get into the tranny to replace some stripped gears. However as I took the tranny apart I noticed a couple of gears that have a black pawl and a shiny pawl that are part of the forward/reverse shaft. How tight are the grub screws to be tightened for these pawls to operate correctly?

Thanks for your answers,

SWMichgander

There is no specific setting. The grub is like the hour hand on a clock. Move it from 12 o'clock to 1 o'clock and it shifts later. 12 to 11, and it's earlier.
Trial and error is the only setting.

Thanks Folks, I am aware of the 2 speed adjustment just wondered about the pawls on the forward/reverse shaft.

I'm no reverse guru, but I don't think they are adjustable. If anything I've never heard of them needing adjustment.
