Recently I purchased a old 2.5 T-Maxx. I decided to upgrade the suspension with Integy alloy suspension set SKU#3876NB and Integy MSR4 Shock set
w/piggyback. SKU#3845B.

The issue I'm having is the lower suspension arm rubs against the universal joint

I have a couple attachments showing what I am describing.

Could someone please advise me on what parts I need to order to fix this problem I have. Please include the manufacture part numbers .

Thank you,

SWMichgander

well i heard integy is more for putting your truck on a shelf and is not very good in general wait for more responses though

haha thats funny, like he said integy can be a pain, i ordered the locking hub and it took a month of emails to get them to respond and ship it out, if you lower the maxx does it not rub? i know when i lift my maxx too high it will rub the drive shaft on the a-arm, being a bad angle, or those a-arms could be designed for the metal drive shafts, witch are a lot skinnier, thats about all i can think of...

huh never even crossed my mind but yea that makes perfect sense there should be spacers in your springs try lowering it

I've done some looking, and i think lowering it would by a temporary solution possibly, but i really think you need the metal drive shafts, and i do feel for you, integy is a pain and I've read on other forums that it is near impossible to mail things back for a return if its not what you were looking for, i did some research after picking there ip address off my internet connection, and i know integy receives there emails in California, and if I'm correct there factory is foreign, not sure where but there factory is not in the usa...a true bummer....all i can say, in your situation, is try the metal drive shafts...

Also, check out the hubs you can get, it is possible that it is the hubs that can make the difference, just a thought...or possibly it could help to back the pivot balls out a little?...

hey Nedly, I bought the suspension from RCPlanet and waiting on a response from them. Integy recommended that I get heavy duty drive shafts and taller steering blocks from Traxxas. I did call the 800 # from Traxxas and a technical support personal mentioned a Traxxas drive shaft Part#5451x would work with steering block #5334 but with looking at those parts the steering block doesn't appear to have same hookup for the turnbuckles, and the drive shaft seem to be just as thick. If RCPlanet doesn't give me any better results, then I guess I'll have to find a RC Nitro hobby store in my area that can possibly help. The picture of the suspension parts I ordered Part. 3876NB on RCPlanet sure looks different then the same part on the Integy webpage. Too bad Integy doesn't have a support phone number. Thanks for your response.

This is aparently a common problem with this type of a-arms. I saw a set of these on sale on ebay with the same wear marks on them. I have another version of the integy arms that have the set screws on the sides. They work great, although I have cvds also. Cvd axles may help but if you have already upgraded the arms you should also look into aluminum steering blocks also. I have almost all integy parts and have had no problems with them. The set you bought seem to be the worst set they offer though. Sorry, but that just seems to be the bottom line. Try CVD axles and aluminum knuckles and I would do some ebay surfing. If you hit it just right you could save a lot of money and maybe get a better, lay of the land, so to speak. As far as the turnbuckles I think that just about any kind can be retrofit to work. They all work off a ball and screw system. Just try some looking on ebay that seems to work for me.

Yeah if i were you, i would keep looking for parts that will mesh with those arms, like shafts and hubs or what not, and yeah when i found my part on ebay, i found that rcboys was who was selling it, they were selling it for integy pretty much, out of the delay in shipping, i was happy with what i got, but i have heard it is a pain to send things back, good luck to you hope you figure it out..:)

Well, i went ahead and ordered new steel axles and steering blocks. That took care of the rub i was experiencing with the aftermarket Integy upgrade. Now, I need to figure out why my front wheels are turning opposite from the rear wheels. I must have some thing wrong inside the tranny. Oh what fun it is. lol

You have a diff in backwards that is why they are spinning different it has nothing to do with the tranny.

jcjh has it right. You probably put it back in upside down after putting your a-arms on. make sure your differentials are pointed in opposing directions when you look at both. Sounds like you almost have it nailed down now. good luck and blue skies.

Wheels turning in same direction

Thanks folks, you were right. My front diff. was rotated 180 degrees out, all is fine now. Appreciate the feedback. Take care.

Don't worry man pretty much ALL of us have done it before. I found out once I did it on my truggy ON RACE DAY. Yeah at the track...lol. Every one made it off the line but me...lol. That was some funny shiz there. What I get for NOT checking everything out before I run it.

I bet your race friends will never let you forget that stunt. Thanks for sharing Joey.
