2.5 motor

i got an old 2.5 from a neibor, i replaced carb and got brand new starter (the car is pull) i start it and in goes normal for a second then just runs to to max. and reasons why, and what i can do

I have the 2.5 engine on my MAXX when you say you installed a new starter was it the EZ-Start. Check your controls maybe the setting on radio was turned to full throttle or make shure you are using fresh batteries...

i wasn't using a controler at all i put a pullstart in it, i was just adjusting the throttle with my finger, do you know if it has anything to go with the clutch spinning freely, it isnt conected to the axil, would the motor just need some weight
