i have ran the truck once, for like 15 mins, and in that time it has went through two glow plugs, and the one it is on now seems to be cutting on and off? it glows for like a second sometimes when touching it to the engine block. i dont want to have to keep buying glow plugs if something else it wrong... the first plug and a half i think it was running to lean/rich. the rest of the plug was spent trying to start it. and it seems as though fuel is coming out of the crank case by the clutch? MAYBE.

Remember those $2 bearings I told you to replace? If your tune is anywhere in the ball park and you keep blowing plugs, it's a sure sign of WORN OUT BEARINGS. Fuel coming out from under the clutch is a sure sign of a WORN OUT BEARING. You can keep blowing $6 plugs, or you can tear your engine back apart and replace your WORN OUT BEARINGS.:)

Revo, i dont have that much, i have to fix my real truck before i can do anything anyway. the engine runs fine when it runs though.
Steel, "worn out" bearings? if i can buy em new for 2$ a piece???
Matt, i think I'm just gonna hold off on the whole thing again for a while, as i mentioned i have to fix my real truck's problem. but bearings are on the top of the list once I'm able to fix it again.

Ok sounds like you may be running too lean. If your front bearing is shot you could have an air leak. Airleaks cause the engine to run lean and hard to tune. Do you know what temps the engine was running at? That would be helpful to know when troubleshooting.

You must not have detected the humor... But, I would not keep running it with worn bearings and an air leak. All you will be doing is wearing out the piston and sleeve, thus creating more harm than good.

joey, i dont have a temp gun... so i dont know the temp. wish i had one though.
Steel, yeah, I'm just gonna put it off for a while and buy the bearings when i get a chance/money.

temp gun

I'm a mechanic, and use a temp gun alot.i bet your local mechanic will have a temp gun,and wouldnt mind seeing your r/c at their shop.

I have the same exact problem :(
I start up the car and 2 mins later they burn out.
I went through so many glow plugs.
Have you replaced the bearings yet? I would like to know if replacing the bearings help.
But on both of my nitro trucks ( Hpi MT Racer and Traxxas tmaxx) leak some fuel out of the clutch area from the engine. Not like it is pouring out but there is a little bit on the chassi.

Thanks :D

I've seen a. Maxx that was doing this over and over too. When we pulled the piston and sleeve half the bottom of the piston was gone.

:hehe: where did the bottom of the piston go? xD

I put fuel in mine yesterday, there was no fuel getting into the engine head/ piston. It was all coming out of the clutch area. :(

My truck has been put on hold due to limited funds. And I have my daily driver that has to suck up my money...:(

Believe it or not it would still run. It just mashed up the piston edge and there were parts of it everywhere. When we looked closely at the glow plugs they were clogged up with aluminum shavings.
