Has anyone heard of being able to trade in your old radio gear at an authorized Traxxas dealer plus 100 bucks to upgrade to the new 2.4 ghz radio system? I was reading the new RC Car Action magazine which had like a 4 page Traxxas ad that said you could do this. Has anyone heard of or tried to do this? I was thinking about it but wanted to know if it was true or not.

Wow I didnt know they went that cheap of course the closest hobby shop to me is like an hour drive so I havent been to check and see how much they are I usually get everything I need off ebay and havent seen any on there yet. Traxxas is selling the 4 channel system for 200 bucks but I can't swing that right now but since all their new models are coming out with it I was wanting to upgrade my 4908 with one. So when I saw the ad I thought I would ask if anyone had heard of it or tried it. But 120 bucks sounds reasonable enough

I believe it's $120 for a 2 channel radio and a 3 channel rx. Explains why it's so cheap. Killer upgrade for a nitro without reverse, though.

I think I would buy a nice used Sektrum DX3.0 before the Traxxas radio. I've seen nice ones for under $100 and you have the computer for multiple model memory and computer adjustments.
