Has anyone used a 18T/52T combo? My Savage 25 came with a 49T spur and two clutch bells - 15T and 18T. HPI recommends a 15T/49T for offroad and a 18T/49T for onroad. Changing to a 52 Spur like the 21 has would give me a a gear ratio close to the middle of the previous two (Using a 18T clutch bell). It's a tight fit, however, and I'm thinking the spur would get wasted - next to no gap.

If it's anything like my .21, that gear combo won't work unless you do some modifying. I tried the 17t CB with my 52 spur and it won't fit unless I notch out the frame for the flywheel and drill out the engine mount so that I can shift the motor more so that it won't be so tight against the spur. Maybe the S25 is different and is possible.

why not buy a 17t or 16t clutchbell? you can use just about any 1/8 scale 17t clutchbell you just have to space it right and get the right bearings. ofna cluthcbells come with bearings.

Camaro,

I bought the 52T by accident. After looking at my mistake, I thought "Hey maybe I can do something with this" - but I think it's too tight w/ the 18T CB.

Anyway, I'm gonna run it with the 15T CB and see what way low looks like.

Thanks to everyone for all the responses to my questions over the last couple weeks. This is a great B board.
