So recently I have been spending a good amount of time of the pavement and decided to try out a set of the HPI Phaultine tires. I have to admit, its kinda fun sliding around on pavement and not needing to worry about getting careless and going off-roading at the same time!

Ok, actual question... Anyone have any recommendations for 17mm wrenches that fit the thin profile of the Phaultline tires? The Traxxas one is too thick and I have learned why tire wrenches were invented - its a PITA to use a set of pliers...

No luck so far - uhg!

Just to clarify. I am not looking for a generic 17mm wrench. I am specifically looking for one that fits inside the wheel hub of the HPI Phaultline tires.

Nothing I have tried so far has worked. There's just not enough room in the dang HPI Phaultline wheel hub for a standard 17mm wrench to fit. The plastic traxxas wheel wrench is way too thick. I have tried two other 17mm metal nut drivers, and neither of these fit either. Uhg!

Anyone else out there using HPI Phaultline tires with the Revo 3.3? And have you found a wrench that fits inside the Phaultline wheel hub?

Its just really akward having to tighten the nuts down with needle-nose pliers.

I have one that will probably work.

The outside diameter is tapered down towards the hex end of the wrench.

I don't remember who makes it and will check when I get home.

edit: I found a pic of it on ebay. Here is the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/KYO-Kyosho-KYOY...hash=item120290649391&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

Mine looks identical, but is not branded Kyosho. The Kyosho name adds at least 50% to the cost of the wrench LMAO.

You can see how it is tapered down. You won't find a thinner wrench at the hex that much I can guarantee.

Thanks for the info... yeah, the $63 is quite a bit much to spend on a wrench. I'll keep my eye out for the non-branded version.
