So I have a Novarossi engine, and it says I should use 16% Nitro

Where can I get this fuel in the USA?

Does it matter or can I use 20%?

Thanks for any help!

20% is fine,in fact I solely use 20%...lots of guys run 30% for the life of the engine and get past the 7 gallon mark

I know at one time there use to be break in fuel. I believe it was somewhere around 10-16%. I have not seen it at my LHS in years though. Use whatever fuel you plan on running everyday and it will be fine. I will suggest a min 25% with 11% oil content though. 20% won't do that engine justice.

Basically the higher the Nitro content, the less oil, but generally more power. Most people including me use 20% and maybe have a small bottle of higher % fuel for racing.

I have the nova in a slayer pro and use a 15% blend which is a little higher in oil (15%) which is made to be similar to traxxas top fuel and it hauls ass .I would say 20% is fine ,I haven't tried it myself but 16% is an odd number and you would be hard pressed to find it.

I wouldnt go over 9% on oil, it will make your engine run otter and wear out the internals faster due to oil having a higher flash point and making the engine work extra hard on trying to burn the extra oil, i run Werks 30% and 7% oil.

Any time you ask a question about fuel your gonna get more opinions than anything. 20% nitro content is just fine 9-11% oil is also fine. I have been running 20% nitro 11% oil in all many makes of truck, and brands of fuel. My Picco runs strong as hell and has now 8 gallons through it. Got to be careful running 30% because some manufacturers require adding shims to your head running 30%. Main thing with oil content is castor to synthetic blend. Some fuel's are just synthetic. There fine to use but Castor oil gives the engine better protection and has a higher burn off rate. I have found no tuning hardly at all switching between 9-11%.

I'm with you, 20% for normal and 25% for racing or just for the LOLZ- get me being all with it...

I beg to differ. Higher nitro content doesn't mean less oil. I've heard that one for years. Look at the percentage of oil. Avoid the ones that are very low in oil as you'll start frying engines. When you increase the percentage of nitro, you also have to richen the carb so at the same time you're adding more oil. I've run nitro planes, trucks and now boats. Boats are turning at much higher RPM and at those being more sustained as we run mostly WOT, not on and off the throttle. Nova Rossi boat engines can run at 38-42,000 RPM and use in the neighborhood of 65% nitro and 20% oil.
