I'm gonna start this project after christmas, i am going to use a 14.4 drill from which i will use the motor(550) , and the speed control (old trigger)will be used after i remove its spring, that will be operated by a servo. I'm gonna run two nimh packs cuz i dont have the cash for lipo. if anyone has done something similar i would appreciate some help, also give me your ideas and thoughts, anything helps seeing that i have never done any thing like this.

hmmm....i think i seen a drill battery on a car i dont no about the drill it self

its not the drill, the motor is a direct replacement, and the triger opperated speed control is remove from the drill, mounted on the car, and opperated by a servo, it is essentially a high voltage mechanical speed control.

sounds cool! although I've never seen any cordless drills that could turn much RPM. maybe it has a gear reduction unit? be sure to post pics up when you crack open the drill!!

will do, I've talked to someone that did something similar with a blizard and he said the motor puts out about the same rpm as a 20t 440 motor but with much more power so i can get more speed through gearing

what do you plan on running it in? I've always wanted to do a tank with dual esc's and motors. kinda like the bomb squad rig. I bet two drill motors would have plenty of power!

it is an xtm x-celerator but i may soon buy a tamiya TT-01 kit and put it in that, but just the truck for now
