I would like to buy a 1/5 MT. I am looking to spend $500-$550. It dosen't have to be a name brand one is can be a clone/knockoff.

PM me with offers.

Thnaks for the link. I just signed up.

I don't know if its still there but theres a clone of the baja on rctech.net guy was asking 500-550$ i don't remember exactly.

I think the Dutatrax Firehammer is the best deal on a clone on the market. Duratrax is most likely better quality than some of the stuff on ebay, and most importantly, it's fairly easy to get parts for it, as duratrax is part of tower, and I think a lot of the parts are interchangeable with the FG stuff.

I have a firehammer MT and love it. Duratrax has the best customer service I have came across and the rig over all is just a beast. I had a baja before this, and both in stock form, the Firehammer would eat the baja for breakfast. (baja's original pipe blows and REALLY restricts it). But yeah, even though I wasn't necessarily a duratrax fan, I am really impressed with mine and would recommend it to anyone. Awesome trucks.

savon: I got in contact with the guy on rctech and I got it for $450 shipped to my door. Cam: I'm glad you told me about the stock pipe. What is a good upgrade? Are these things hard to work on? I'm really tired of nitro's finnikyness and i'm tired of bl's price tag so its 1/5 for me.

mach1basher, nitro completely sucks when you compare it to a gasser. These are by the easiest RC's that I've ever had to work on. And as far as running them, you can't beat it. There's no break in, you don't have to tune once you set the needles the first time that you run it, after that you never have to worry about tuning again. You don't need an igniter or any of that crap. You just take if off the shelf, you can leave the fuel in it from when you ran it a few days ago, so you shake it up a little to mix the oil and gas, flip the choke and pull once, flip the choke back and it will start on the next pull. You can run it for about an hour on a $2 tank of gas if you figure you've got $1 worth of high end 2 stroke oil in the tank, without refilling. Then when you're done, there's no after one procedure. You just put it bck on the shelf, and plug in the receiver pack.

You need to order outerwears filters before you ever run it for the first time. Those are the most important investments that you'll make in RC. The baja is by far one of the most duable RC on the market, and about 10 times more durable than a Savage if you want to compare it to something small scale.

The pipe is a huge restriction. If I were you, I would pull the stinger out as soon as you get it. If you want to buy an exhaust, it will help a lot. This is an excellent site, and they have everything that you could ever want.

If you want to save money on an exhaust, the Baja 5B SS pipe is a really nice exhaust system, one of the best I've ever seen for a stock part. They're only around $90 new, compared to $160 for the Jet Pro, which is a great brand. Don't let the cost of parts scare you, you aren't going to be spending much money at all on this thing IF it's of the same quality as the baja. Some of the clones are great, and some of them will give you nothing but nightmares, so hopefully you got a good one.

This article should help you out a lot.

Seriously, I wouldn't run it wihout the outerwears pull start cover, and they're really cheap

Ok the guy on rctech traded it for a crawler. But on another forum there was a local guy that dosen't live too far away from me that has a firehammer buggy for sale. If i'm willing to drop $500 on this I might as well make it run good. I am not the best at tuning the needles so i'm going to make it where its not leaned for performance but in the middle where it'll run no matter what. I will definatally buy the pipe(I like the way it sounds anyways) and I'll get the outerwares for the pull start, shocks, and all that. I like the saying "If your going to do it, do it good". Sorry about having you telling me all these things about the 5b but it ends up the guy backs out and trades for a crawler. Is the firehammer buggy better? I really like the firehammer mt so could I mout the mt tires/wheels on there without any mods?

The information that I gave you pretty much applies to any large scale gasser, not specifically to the baja. Did you check the price on a new firehammer? $500 sounds a little steep if it's well used, but it would depend on the condition. I'm not sure how much they go for new, but I was thinking that it was around $600. For that you might would rather buy the monster truck.

There about $900 new. I would like to get a good deal on a gasser mt but I could just throw the mt tires on it and i'll have to ground clearance I need.

dam that's expensive, I think it's gone up some in the last few months. I don't know how the quality of the smartech and duratrax compare, but you could get one of their 4x4 monster trucks really cheap on ebay.
