Winter Beater MT

a monster truck i built to run in the winter when the weather sucks

General RC Information

after wanting to build a "winter beater" for 25 years i finally broke down a built one. i started by snagging a 2wd MT off ebay for $60 (see pic's 2 and 3). then threw some parts at it. it was a balancing act between wanting to fix the shortcomings of the stock truck so that it would drive well and be reliable and keeping the cost "reasonable". frankly the truck ended up over built for its intended purpose but other than driveshafts shouldn't give me any issues.
had to grind out the braces to make a modern lipo fit. custom fabed a radio try and battery strap from fiberglass.

build sheet:
EcoPower WP110S servo
HPI Flux 3700kv motor
HPI FLX-10 esc.
HPI TF-50 radio with RF-50N receiver (an ebay score)
Proline Trencher 2.2 tires on RPM Revolver wheels
RPM caster blocks
RPM front shock tower
RPM front bearing carrier
RPM wide front A arms
RPM gear box housing
RPM rear bumper mounts and motor guard
RPM wide front bumper
RPM front and rear skid plates for a short course truck that shall remain unnamed
RPM front and rear body mounts
Hot Racing aluminum idler gear
Hot Racing hardened chrome plated caster block pins
ST Racing front hinge pin brace
ST Racing polished hinge pins
RC Screws stainless screw kit
JConcepts Hunter body painted with 2 coats of Proline pearl arctic blue, 2 coats of Parma florescent blue, and backed in Parma black (i should have backed it in white, i was originally looking for a lighter blue and the black really darkened it up)

I'm sure ill take better care of it than i intended, but its mint to be driven hard and put away wet and maybe even muddy. no cares given.
