General RC Information
think i bought this truck in early summer 1999. beat it almost daily like it owed me a large sum of money. and finally destroyed it in 2004 or 5. then resurrected it in about 2014. originally equipped with Duratrax Streak ESC, Hitec radio, and Trinity Speed Gems 2 15 turn motor. its had more radio's, ESC's, and motors than i can even remember. it's still a runner and still powered by a brushed motor. currently equipped with a Reedy 17 turn brushed motor, a Duratrax ESC, and a 2.4 Duratrax radio.
features/hop ups:
Factory Team blue titanium turn buckles with RPM ball cups.
Thunder Tiger Phoenix ST2 chassis and rear shock towers (at the time i couldn't find OG T3 parts i could afford)
RPM blue rear toe blocks/arm mounts
the Blue Proline F150 body was put on January 2001. (still have and occasionally run that body)
i think the only parts left from my original kit are the hinge pins, some of the ball studs, 1 steering crank, servo saver, shock bodies and 3 shafts, front body mount, front axles, MIP CVD's, battery strap, some hardware, foam battery spacers, and entire stealth gearbox (or did i replace the case? i don't remember)
interesting facts:
the original body was painted "tie dye" by accident. the paint i originally used kept flaking and pealing and i would touch it up with whatever paint i happened to be using at the time. it had everything from Createx, Parma, various brands of spray paint, to Testors model paint. i even at one point sprayed the outside of the body with i think Createx which eventually mostly came off.
iv launched the truck off numerous house/garage roofs. the truck has been 20+ feet in the air more than once. i once jumped over my 71 VW Bug with it. and on several occasions drove it under a fence and onto a golf course where i did doughnuts in the bunker and on the green, and did speed runs up and down the fairway. cause that's how you roll when you're a teenage hooligan.
