Dromida 4.18 MT

1/18 Dromida monster truck

General RC Information

what started off as a Tower Hobbies Scratch and Dent parts car got built into a runner. its basically a stock brushed 4.18 Monster Truck. i recently swapped the 2n1 ESC/Receiver for a Hobbywing 1625 esc and Dromida receiver. so i could run lipo. kept the stock motor (with added heat sink). RioRand MG90S micro servo. Parma panel truck body (rear body posts are from Duratrax). and now sporting Arrma Granite Grom wheels/tires on 12mm hex adapters.
the servo mounts are part of the 2n1, so when i swapped that out i had to find a way to mount the servo. Dromida did make a mount that rotates the servo 90 degrees and changes one of the steering cranks. rather than track down the required parts i took apart and cut up the 2n1 case. it maintained the original servo mounts while giving me a place to mount the ESC and on/off switch.
iv also drilled a bunch of holes in the chassis under the motor for better ventilation, and cut back the gear cover to expose more of the motor mount to help cooling.
future plans are to regear it. the motor is scorching after 10 minutes, i think do to the Arrma tires being a touch bigger than the original Dromida tires.
