General RC Information
this car has a history. i bought it off a friend in shop class in late 1998 for $20. it had spec tires from a legends car wrapped with bike innertube, and a Hitec Lynx AM radio. over the years it's had more ESC and motor combos than i can remember. at one point i was even running a 12 turn motor on two 6 cell nimh packs controlled by a micro switch, it had to be geared to the moon to keep it from blowing the tires of and doing instant doughnuts as soon as i hit the throttle.
it was run everywhere from paved school playgrounds, to chewed up parking lots, to the street in front of my house, to, no joke, baseball fields, to an empty swimming pool.
it was parked in mid 2001 when i broke a kingpin, steering block and lost a front spring and couldn't find replacement parts.
fast forward to 2016ish and i was able to get the required parts now branded RJ Speed. so the "restoration" began. by that point the car also needed a new T plate (the original was delaminating) so i whipped one one up on the CNC at work. missing a couple rear suspension parts and not being able to find the correct size grommet i also made a "radio tray". swapped around some hardware and the chassis was complete.
fast forward to 2022 and i finally got a body and threw some electrics in it. today it's a paint job away from finished.
the pic's are the history of the car. a few older pics, some "under construction" pics, and the car in its current unpainted state.
the current spec's:
Motor - TrackPower 13.5
ESC - Castle Sidewinder 3
Servo - HPI SF10 (this is temporary)
Radio - Futaba 3PL
