This all comes back to oil lube and engine break in. Those Traxxas engines run good on18% oil lube and the high should Not be less than 4-1/4 turns open. As a engine gets older you can run more oil lube if you were running less to start. As for break in just go slow and listen to the engine...

That would be a good sign? With more oil lube you should be able to turn in more 1/8 turn . But it should run with factory setting on the high. It will be rich but run. A good engine will do that.

This is thee problem I identified earlier. What are the settings now when you had it tuned with 9% oil lube. Compared to the factory start settings ?You shouldn't have to touch the low. All that should be adjusted it the idle to keep engine running. More oil lube is only going to change the...

The slipper clutch for all savage trucks are the same. The gears are all the same style with the bearing on the outside. So you can use what size you want. Make sure to adjust the motor so the clutch bell gear mesh is set with a piece of paper with the spur gear. Then tighten motor down again...

Pic 2 shows a gap? it is not on correct. gear is on backwards. When you put the slipper clutch back together stand the truck up so gravity is you friend and stack it back together. Ditch the the cheap bushing for a bearing on the gear.

The fail safe will stop the truck from a run away if signal lost or low voltage is lost. It will put the brakes on preventing you to drive it until you fix the problem. It sets up easy.

Usually you don't change the stock spur gear size. To get more torque without loosing speed you change the clutch bell 2 teeth. You can get the metal spur gear. You can get a 15 tooth clutch bell.

If there is some scoring on the 4.6 engine I suspect the bearings could be bad. More oil lube will help with that problem. It will also help when starting and promoting a good pinch. I suggest you get a temp gun and watch the temperature Not to exceed 225 degrees. That is a medium number! I...

Might as well run lower % oil.. There is nothing wrong with more oil. It isn't bad for the motor. That's the same old story I have heard over and over. I don't recommend any fuel with less than 14% oil lube. Car fuel is crap. The stores push it So you will buy more and your engines don't last as long. Fuel is fuel air or land. All that is different is the oil lube content. I tried car fuel once and my Os engines ran like crap. 1/2 tank and they...
