    Thanks everyone. I bought a set of jewelers drill bits from harbor freight. They have all the different size drill bits that I would need. I use the reversed side (the end where the drill attaches to) to measure out the gap.

    So no one is going to answer his question? How do you measure the idle gap. Calipers don't fit. If you know of some that do, then that is the answer he is looking for. The drill bit is a nice answer if you are trying to measure for 1mm. What about .475mm, .5mm, and .525mm? I'm surprised how long...
