Brass extended hexes will solve a lot of that. You can also get some brass spindles for the front, and a brass front diff cover.
The only drawback is more weight will be more taxing on the stock motor. Some have had no problems with the stock motor, but the one in our Deadbolt only lasted 3...
The stock battery lasts us about 25 minutes or so, but I've never really timed it. These trucks don't take much juice to get a run in. That's one thing nice about crawlers.
You need a 1.27mm or .050" hex driver for the screws, and a 4mm nut driver for the wheel nuts. That's it.

Less rotational weight is just easier on the motor and drivetrain, and you'll have better throttle response for those moments when you need to goose the throttle.

I stay away from adding too much rotational weight. Getting some brass steering knuckles and a brass front diff cover would be a really good way to add weight down low.
