Hey every one I'm gettin my xxx-nt this weekend, as i just got paid more than what i thought. I was plannig on cuttin it close but now with the extra i have money for extra. I've researched alot and have found out most of the optional but neccessary(sp) hop ups like the monster diff gear but I'm most likly gonna wait untill it breaks. I was wondering about the aluminum suspension kit from rc trix aswell I dunno if itll be worth it and if it will hold up or just i just buy the stock suspension part if something breaks? Well n e ways wish me luck on break in and I'm sure ill be on here for technical issues lol its just gonna happen

My dad has this RC Trix all aluminum kit you speak of. Its very sweet and as the name suggests very trick. BUT....think of it this way....I have raced a XXXNT DE for almost 6 months on a weekly basis and still havnt spent that much on graphite arms and towers and I break something weekly. Similar hits to the arms such as walls, curbs, or even the black drainage piping used at the local tracks will most definatley bend these trick parts. You replacement costs are more than tripled. I keep an extra set of front and rear arms and knuckles as well as front and rear shock towers in my box for these mid day breakages. I can't afford to keep an extra set of Al. parts on hand.

YES, they are trick but YES they bend instead of breaking. IMO Losi makes arms easy to break in order to save damage to other parts that are more expensive. Kinda like an absorbing effect. With the Al. one small bump will pull screws out of the plastic more than you care to want to know about.

Stick with the graphite/plastic parts and spend your money on stocking up on other parts like the Al diff gear and 1HG's diffnut. I found these upgrades far more worth the money

Thanks very much thats the answer i was lookin for. A lil bit off topic but what does IMO mean? I'm not new the onlining i just havent seen that too much.

imo=in my opinion ;)

and, i think you should get the rc trix stuff, just so you can be one of the 1st people to have them (they just came out right???). i've seen a pic of them, they look awesome :D

Yeah I'm not sure how long theve been out but i though it looked pretty cool and strond but now I've heard otherwise i wil be ettin the pivot blocks as i have been told the stock one r weak but probably not the whole set. It would be cool to be one of the first but onl if i was making a show truck which I'm definantly not.

I just Bought a XXX-nt and within the first 20 days i have Broke several parts....So be prepared. I have Broke The rear shock tower, the diff gear stripped the combo gear stripped and the front arms have broke......So plan on buying better more dorable parts.....Tist is still a wonderful car it just it a "piece" with all the stock plastic stuff.

Ok guys.. here is some info.. for you new XXXNT owners out there..

there are some hopups.. that i totally reccommend.. and your truck will be very durable..

1. most definite.. aluminum rear pivot block 25 bux
2. also a neccecity.. a rear battery brace.. www.dacemfg.com has a nice one.. or get an aluminum battery box from rctricks.com 25 bux
3. dace mfg shock tower brace.. like 15 bux..
4. definitly, if you get an RTR, i highly reccommend the Lunsford titanium turnbuckles..
5. not really needed.. but trinity aluminum rear hub carriers..

Alot of these hopups are available on ebay.. for pretty cheap..

these items are great hopups.. that make great sense.. and make the truck much more durable..

the aluminum diff gear.. i dont like.. because it just makes the diff get hot.. also.. its been stated.. that the tranny case.. being RTR is plastic and does alot of flexing. allowing for bad gear mesh.. i reccommend getting the drake tranny case.. much stiffer.. and doesn't flex.. i have never stripped a diff gear..

i dont think all aluminum is good.. simply because.. you will break something else.. the graphite arms.. and stuff.. while not as forgiving as the RTR plastic arms.. are not designed to break.. if you put aluminum on there.. you will just break something else.. that is harder to replace.. you know what I'm saying..

personally id rater replace the front pivot block instead of a front arm care its easier to replace the pivot block and its cheaper
