X maxx steering stripped while sitting still

Bought a brand new x maxx.
Drove it a few times all was good.
Just drove it this last weekend, truck was fine. Drove it over to me, left it on, talked to a friend for about a minute.

Suddenly, I hear a high pitch type of whine that slowly dissipated like a leaking balloon. Then no more steering. Center stopper gear stripped so the servo just keeps spinning whatever way you turn it until you stop it.

Replaced the servo with the 2085x but like wtf? How can a servo just strip while a vehicle is sitting still???

Things happen..Id contact Traxxas about this issue asap.

Just sitting still it was probably straining to center itself with too much resistance from tires that were not moving. Still, it shouldn't have stripped, maybe overheated a bit is all. I agree with @tntpoof that you should contact Traxxas. I'm sure they'll replace it for you.
