Hello everyone:

We are new to this site. We have a used revo 2.5. It would not go in reverse or forward. We saw that the motor mount was broken so we went and replaced it in hopes that the motor and transmission would not be in a bind again. After putting all back together, it still will not go in reverse or forward. Could you please help us.

Servos are working

Are you getting any motion on the servo?
Try disconnecting the opti-drive and wire the servo directly.

Thank you so much for responding.
The servos are all operating correctly and we reprogrammed the opti drive. Still no reverse or forward and when we rev engine it dies out.

Well your question requires more details, you say it wont go into forward or reverse, but then you say when you rev it up the engine dies out, are you sure it is not going into or even in forward or reverse? Or is there a possibility something is wrong with the engine, need to know, could be multiple things, narrowing it down over a forum with out a video of what its doing needs much detail but it could be multiple things, sounds like either something wrong with tranny, or something wrong with engine..

I had a servo that worked when the truck wasn't running, but under driving conditions, it wasn't working properly

Sounds like that may be our problem. What was your solution??
Thank you for responding.

Replaced the servo. It was the throttle, so I put a 2075 digital

I've got a 2060 shift servo and a 2055 throttle servo. Are you telling me i should replace the 2055 with a 2075 or stick with the same numbers that i have. Also how do I tell if its a digital servo or is there only one kind. I dropped the drive shaft off both sides of the transmission in hopes that it would gain some freedom because when the motor is revved up it seems that the transmission is locked up. No progress there.

I put a 2075 in because it was broken. I'm of the opinion that when it breaks you should up grade it. If I'm not mistaken, they say that they are digital on the top. When I put in reverse, I put in a 2065 waterproof. If the trans doesn't spin freely, then there's something in the gears jamming it.

It sounds like the tranny is going to need to be taken apart. It's most likely one of the gears blew up inside the case.

My guess at the most likely is the reverse gear itself

We would like to thank all of you for your responses and help. It turns out when we took the tranny apart, the forward/reverse gear was busted and therefore jamming everything. We are back on the road! Thank you again!:first_place::D

Our used 2.5r revo got shifted from reverse to forward at a good clip. Wheelied real good and made a BAD BAD racket. Sounded like gear(s) blowing up.

I hear talk of "setting the opti drive"...and maybe if I'd cared enough to look into it, mine might have worked.

We've run over three quarts of fuel through it since. Reverse does not work.

I wonder how long it will run like that?

As long as nothing gets jammed up, it should keep running just fine. My girlfriends little brother broke his reverse and kept it running for a few months before it got replaced
