Hello!
I was hoping someone here could tell me the part I need to buy to fix my son's RC car? I am a total novice here and not sure what to look up to repair it.

Thank you,

Disassemble the front end and compare the two sides, I can’t tell from the picture.

It's on the left front end wheel. It's snapped away from the frame.

This is most likely what you need.

Is there a crack in the plastic where the pin goes through? or did the pin come out. If the plastic is cracked and it pulled through you will also want to make sure the pin didn't bend.

The part you're showing appears fine. It's a black tip part where the pin connects is cracked. The pin also seems fine.

Without having one of these in front of me, it's kind of tricky. Do you have a manual, if so, and does the manual have a diagram in it?

I think my son through it away... lol I will check around online to see if I can find one. Thank you for your time though!

here it is..

i have this 144001 car and a few other wl toys, I'm sure ill end up doing this too ;)

Thank you,
No worries, I can help (I know a fair amount about these cars, look at my profile pic!)! It looks like you'll need a new hinge pin holder thingy, the black plastic piece that holds the hinge pin. I'd also recommend you pick up some new A-arms as well, your front left one looks like it's gonna give with one or two more crashes! Check if your front CVD drive shaft is bent, it may have gotten bent in the crash. Straighten it out of pliers and a hammer if needed, get it as close to straight as you can.

Here is the little black grommet piece you'll need:
https://www.ebay.com/p/16043004743 (this listing gives you 2 full sets of these, 16 grommets/shaft sleeves total, here is one set, 8 pieces)
Or browse yourself

Alternativley, you can get full metal upgrade hinge pin braces, which do away with the little black plastic holders, they come in sets of 4, make sure you install the right brace for the right spot, they're all different. (sorry, I could only find this item on Ali, can't seem to find it elsewhere)
If you do get them, watch this video from John Robinson RC (for the install)

Wait, found them on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/ZeckTeck-Rei...rds=Wltoys+144001+arms&qid=1642023095&sr=8-11 or https://www.amazon.com/VGEBY-Reinfo...rds=Wltoys+144001+arms&qid=1642023127&sr=8-19

A-arms (you can find these on many different sites): https://www.amazon.com/Suspension-O...ords=Wltoys+144001+arms&qid=1642023127&sr=8-6

or https://www.ebay.com/itm/324694212058?hash=item4b99487dda:g:ehMAAOSwTqBg2aiE (6 pieces, 3 front arms, 3 rear arms, and 4 wheel/hub bearings too)

In case you need it someone has uploaded a copy of the manual here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1C8N2Wz1ZfWZyKt0GVaLeF0NhtX4Cn0en/view?usp=sharing
If anybody needs a video of someone replacing an A-arm on the 144001 or something like that, I can link to a video from one of the YTers I follow :)

No need to pay for the manual, it doesn't show how replace that part as well as a video, you know the saying a picture (or a video in this case) is worth a thousand words!

Hi guys,

just to add to this... the manual doesn't say the orientation of A, B, C, D swing arm sleeves going from front to back in pairs. Is the A label on it the way we read it or upside down because they are different. Anyone have any ideas?

Can you send a picture? I can take a picture of the bulkheads on my 144001, if that will help you.

Are you talking about the little black plastic sleeves that go in the hinge pin blocks? The ones that the A-arm pin connects to? If so, I think you can just guess what goes where, mostly. One note - the rear sleeves of the rear hinge pin assembly does affect the toe angle of the rear wheels. Read the first part of this article to see what I'm talking about

Thank you. Yes swing arm sleeve part 1267. The article to quadify explains the orientation for rear toe adjustments. Not sure about the front orientation of the "swing arm sleeves" if anyone has any ideas? (Yes I know tie rods do toe in and out at the front as well as camber).

Cheers,
A.

I'll try and send a picture of mine tomorrow. Try eyeballing/guessing it for now, see how close you can get. If you get the sleeve orientation right, your CVDs, dogbones, and tierods should fit like normal.
