There's a couple different ways to go about it. 1) visit www.teknorc.com and order thier wing mount. I have one but it's not installed, waiting for my other set-up to take a dump first. Anyway, that is the simplest and easiest thing to do, there's really not mod required but that's dependant on body position and body. The other way is to mod the rear body mount brackets and get the Mugen MBX-5 or GS Storm wing mount / stay and wing and mount it to the body mount brackets. It's an easy mod and what everyone was doing before the tekno mount.

I have the Tekno mount installed and it is a direct bolt-on with no mods just as jetmech mentioned. You will need do some body trimming as you would with any mount. Takes about 15 minutes to install. One thing of note with the Tekno mount, you can't adjust the angle of the wing.

What wing works best with it??

I have the mayhem.. so would a mayhem wing work??

adrian

ps... is it worth doing a different mod to be able to adjust the wing?

Any wing will work, but if you already have mounting holes in it, you will need to drill new ones since the mounts are further apart. If you use the Proline wing, you will need to grind the stiffeners on the underside of the wing so it will sit on the mounts properly.

I used a Thunder Tiger wing which worked out great. They are only like $5 and does not have pre-drilled holes. Also does not have any stiffeners in the way.

IMO, not being able to adjust the wing is a non issue.

BTW, the Tekno mount comes with a drill template so you can put your holes in the right location.

For $20 + shipping, you can't go wrong with the Tekno.

Kinda funny you mention that. I thought the same thing until I decided to adjust the thing one day. I shaved some time off the first run when I adjusted it and left it and then during the main shaved off even more. Sounds hokey but that little adjustment made a little over 1 second difference in my lap times. This was at a big event I had been running all weekend, btw.

You never know. Could have been wing angle or just you getting better on the track.

It just looks like the Tekno wing mounts so low in relation to the truck body that adjusting the wing is a non issue and would only offer minimal gain. Although sometimes minimal gain is the difference between winning or loosing.

BTW, I don't race and only beat the snot out of my REVO. I got the wing cuz it looks cool. :)

Actually one of my racing partners did the same thing and his times improved too. Though we are not running the Tekno wing mount. I use the GS Storm and have it mounted so it sits up a bit higher.

That mount is the shiznit. I just replaced my Mugen wing mount/setup with that, and it is far superior. The techno mount with a Pro Line wing is the best IMO.

I mounted a Revo wing for jshou using the mugen mount/proline wing. You can use two Savage bulkhead rods for spacers and trim them to fit with a dremel. I will ask him to post some pics.

Hi Guys,

Here's a picture of the Tekno Revo Wing Kit installed.

Where do you get the Thunder Tiger wings for 5 bucks?

eBay. I picked-up 3 of them.

A Main Hobbies has them for like $6.75 regular priced.
