hi i have just sold my magic wheel to a friend. for $475cnd
and i just recived a new one in the mail for $400cnd.
and now it wont start. I've screwed up with facory settings. and now it wont stat. it is realy hard to pull the pull start and I'm getting a blister. have a good plug and glw starter. i have HS needel at 3 turns out and low at 3. idle stop at 2. and at idle the carb is open 1/3 of the way. what do i do. i got it started for about 30 seconds but then stalled and hasent fired up after about 100 attempts. and when it started it shot off like there was no cluctch.. what would be the problem?

Hazarding the guess that the new engine has not been broken in, this is normal. New engines are often hard to start, and tend to act peculiar until properly broken in. Make sure that you are breaking the engine in with your radio set on and the throttle input to zero or closed. If you messed with "factory" settings, then return them to the factory set and start your break in. When you complete the break in, then mess with the needles as you need to for gaining the best performance.

Things that make the new engine a little easier to start: New batteries in glo-ignitor, engine primed correctly (not flooded), and a glove (to help protect against blisters). If the compression is such that the pull chord is extremely difficult to pull, unscrew the glo-plug a couple of turns and try to start it. Once you have it running, you can tighten down the glo-plug.

Good luck.

I would go with the glo plug suggestion. However, a couple of turns might be too much. Half, to 3/4 turn out is the most I will go. I have a fear of getting hit in the head by the glo plug bullet lol.....

Spoken like someone who has been there done that. I've only had to do that once per engine (so far) and loosened it one and a half turns (each time). Regardless, loosen it enough to let a little air out on the compression stroke, and you might find it easier to get going.

One other thing I forgot to mention, make sure you are using a glo plug that is appropriate to that engine and that it is new. A spent glo plug will make things tough.

I have also found that if you prime the engine and then leave the glo ignitor on for about 20 seconds prior to pulling on the chord, you get a little better start. Call it a little extra heat combined with the prime to get the ignition going quicker. Whatever you call it, it has worked for me on my TRX Pro .15, Fantom .15FR, and recently on my new Hyper 21 Eight Port.

I just thought of something. This is that knock off maxx. Does the fuel tank come with a primer button? I bet the cheap gas tank doesn't have a good primer. Maybe it's stuck closed. I had a similar problem with my Duratrash. Prime it and then hold the primer button down while you try to start it. If it starts up, you might want to remove the primer. Those primer things are always a headache from what I read.

Maybe you are hydro locking, take out the plug turn your truck upside down and pull the starter if a lot of gas comes out than put the plug back in and the engine should start right up.:jester:
