As the titles says, who still uses them?

I think the last time I used one was at our local race track yonks ago in my TT01. :)

They still seem popular.

Who prefers the AM/FM over 2.4ghz and why?
Another thought from THE FARTING PENGUIN. My comments concerning AM/FM were predicated on your comment vdctoring to early-days types of RC. I still listen to AM radio ( voice and music ). Takes me back to my youth when I would late-night listen to see how far away I could get stations. Called QSL-ing in my early ham radio days, I liked to listen on a short wave radio to
European stations. There us just something unique about picking up radio waves on a crystal radio ( PIX ). Might try to get back to listening to people "speak" in Morse Code to back-track my amateur radio ( WD8ODM ). Just picked up a ALINCO DX-R8T ( http://www.alinco.com/Products/rcv/DX-R8/ ) from a local pawn shop. Am trying to set up an FCC Part 15 legal transmitter for my local Guitar Store. The transmitter (https://www.talkinghouse.com ) will AM broadcast store demo guitar music to some oooooold ZENITH tube radios. Sorry for being so long-winded. Additionally, a way to develop building and soldering skills is to build a TUBE RADIO KIT ( e.g. https://www.tubesandmore.com/products/radio-kit-2-tube-regenerative-radio ). Just hope that all my blathering helps some people.
