Fords are pretty reliable in my experience. My friend has a '96 town car with 250,000 miles on it and the only thing he's had to replace was a fuel filter, a ball joint, and the normal brakes/tires/etc.
My '99 STS, on the other hand, has had to have extensive work to keep it on the road. And it has 40,000 miles.
But at any rate... all the guys over here run RB engines, the WS7 is extremely popular. It seems like a decent engine.
