I know there have been a lot of these..
I want a good engine, that is race legal in the mt class. It will be going in a prospec truggy.

I want it to hold a good tune.
Better low end than top end.
Still be controlable.
Starter box friendly.

What size is Legal for the MT class? I'm under the impression that a .21-.26 is race legal. I would love to put my REX XRP528R in my Prospec truggy (I'll be converting one of my Prospecs into a truggy once the kits come out). I just bought a Max Power M5 and am still breaking in my P5. Both of these should be good truggy motors. Crono is also an excellent motor. I have a Crono SR3, it has sick power @ 200-210 degrees, it's just broke-in with about 3/4 of a gallon thru it.
I'm sticking with the Italion motors for my high end racing applications.

I'm thinking of the tm .28 by rb. I will call on Monday and ask if i can run this. Is your rex good on the bottem end?

dynamite .26 (140ish) or GS 25MT (on ebay often for 125 bux, retails for 250 or so). good motors that are cheap, easy to rebuild cheap and will give u good power thats not so gross as to cause u more probs drivin then help. and if somethin goes on em, its not a major loss/expense.

i have 3 25MTs, 1 still hasnt seen time yet. nice motors. same 4 the dynamite. think thats what the LST has stock

If you can run .28 the Nova .28 8-port I hear is a beast. I also liked my Wasp .28, had great low and high end.

Let's put it this way, with an 18t pinion and LST tires on my Super Savage, it would do wheelies so violently that the truck would flip ocer backwards, land upside down and bounce back @ 15-20 mph! It could wheelie @ about 25 mph and would also wheelie when shifting into 2nd gear! Top speed was about 50 mph w/ a49t spur gear.
I never had a problem with any driveline components, but it does like to eat clutch shoes if you're not careful. I've been running it in my Mayhem lately, whet a monster, left bare patches of grass in my lawn from nailing the throttle! I nailed it on the back half of our straight on the track(Blue groove) and lost control and launched into the fence, tore the front lower arm off! The XRP528R has sick all around power! If you buy one, get the 8 port over the 3 port, huge differance!!! I might be selling one soon, maybe. Kind of hard to part with.
PS. You get what you pay for! The Nova motors last alot longer than the rec motors!

REC motors?
That sounds like alittle too much power...

Whats the difference in the nova pipes? The .053, .086 etc. I want the low end one.

.28 and below, most rules. notice how people are blowin out the collari 30 to get rid of it.

ur title and intentions of this thread started out as a good motor thats not to expensive, easy to tune, and decent, but not gross, power.

now ur up to which nova .28 u want.....what gives. each track i run at now, i can't utilize any of the power those engines have. have guys here w/nova and rb .28s, picco 27s, wasps, and 24.7s and their all a waste b/c u can't exploit the power. even if u have a tight track, unless its got unlimited grip and u have a handle on ur driving, would u utilize it. most tracks have lil grip, so spinning wheels, traction loss and spinouts from early throttle app would see the expense wasted.

not to mention those motors are not cheap to rebuild or replace. my 25MTs retail at 250, i get them on ebay from time to time around 125 new. i can get a new p/s for them around 50bux, and all the others parts are readily avail and cheap. make good power, but also be able to control it (still need a restrictor w/it ideally).

this 1 track i'm gonna start racing on, so tight and slippy i might put a bigger bell on w/a good sized restrictor and slow down the radio action all to keep it inline.

just thoughts, good luck w/whateva u get. thought this might shed some light on things.

heck, u want 1 of my 25MTs (i have too many as is).

i'll sell ya the last 1 i have thats brand new for 130bux to ur door (125+5ship priority).

and i'll be real nice...i'll leave the complete flywheel/clutchpack/13T bell on there (all new from factory) and the factory exhaust (again new). i'll try and snap a pic 2nite if u'd like?

how's that?

I'm going to look at a mach .26 w/ nova cooling head, that or the picco. Your right i did get away from what i wanted. Good thing i didnt buy it. Other than the mach and 25mt what do you reccomend?

Fantom .27 or Mach .26 is thyquestion. I like both of them. I am leaning twoards the mach because it is less exspensive. Either way it will be fowlled by an O.S 2050 or Nova 053. And nova cooling head.
