unless their was a typo again, thats what you said the first time.
Did you win a car? Or are you saying that Hpi cars are good to you, so your buying an R40?

i think he meant " hpi has treated him well cause of the quality of the cars or cause he very much likes them"

Winning is 99% car 100% driver and this guy is proof of that.. ?????

that makes a total of 199% :smoke:
1% car?? 99% driver?
or
1%driver 99% car?

In reality, I think its more like 40% car, 60% driver.

You guys gotta lighten up and not think too much in mathematical terms. What 99% car, 100% driver means that the car is only is as good as the driver. And yes, the guy that won the ROAR1 Regionals is proof of that. He's a regular at Prospeed, where I race and I've been watching him ever since I've started going up there. He handles his car with great finesse.

I meant to say that HPI has treated me well and I corrected my original post (you can see that my original post was edited after Buncrana's post).

After the money that has to be spent to lighten the R40 you might has well bought a mugen or serpent but overall it is still a great car. I'm not bashing on it HPI makes superior products I have the Pro4 & I been winning some races with it

true on the lighten cost thing.
i live in holland and the serpents are made here. but still they are very expensive.
and when you brake something its even more expensive.
hpi parts are cheaper then anyother. and when i order from tower in U.S it saves me another 45%.

what dit you pay for you serpent 710 ...710baby?
here it costs 560,61 us dollar.with out engine and other stuff
and the r40 479,64 . or 523,00 with engine and tuned pipe.

the dutch politics just screws everyone here. euro is very expensive.

how's the pro 4 handle? seen one in action but iam more into nitro.

This Mugen X12, it isn't the same as the MT12 that came with my MTX-3 is it? I asume not. Anyone have any opinions on the MT12?

No, the Mugen X12 is a different engine. The MT12 is also a great engine. Definitely a screamer as well. I beleive that's the engine that Team17 has in his MTX-3.

I paid $350 for the 710 now serpent has a rebate program the going price is $370 - the manu rebate it will run you $320
The pro4 is awesome they really put a great one on this kit it has an awesome handling right out of the box the car kicks A## came 2nd place off 1 second from first in the roar regional race I been using this car for 2 months

I saw the Mugen X12 at my LHS. Definatly differant, not to mension expensive. Of coarse they've been known to try and get rich of the deal before. I don't know what it goes for, but I thought 525.99 they where asking was a little high.

That's DAMN HIGH! Horizon hobbies has it listed for $400. I got it from my LHS for $300.Other hobby shops are selling it for around $330+. Your LHS is raping ya for all your worth.

if you want the hoped up version there is the 2004 R40 but you have to order from hong kong or japan it will run about 360-400 shipped but it comes with titanium screws, hollow shafts, carbin fiber shock towers, and alot other stuff.there is also a pacage that comes with all the hop ups that the 2004 version has except the titanium screws.
