when dyeing a rim

do you have to remove the tire? i have heard that you do and have heard that you dont any info be much appreciated
 
Yep, it helps to remove the tire first, or you'll end up with a colored tire. Plus, it allows you to fit more than one in the pan at one time.
 
Not to mention you will have a tire with a foam insert full of dye and it will be a b!TCH to get it all out...
 
its a big pan and I'm doing the rims in black so i dont think it will hurt the tire reason why is cuz the tires and rims are mounted and when i mount a tire and rim it never is so close to being perfectly round
