Ok so this may sound like I have to much time on my hands, but truth be told, since Covid I probably do, don’t seem to do much but go to work and tinker with rc’s!!! So last week me and my son 11yrs old, built a 4x4 stampede brushed kit. It is not a very high performance kit considering what we usually play with, xmaxx, revo. So we decided that for fun we would try to optimize this kit to see how fast we could get it to go, in stock form, with nothing but a 13 tooth pinion and 2s lipo. Out of the box the truck would do 24.8 km/h with 9 tooth pinion. 2s lipo. After some tinkering we have got it’s speed up to 39.1 km/h. Our last tweek on it was balancing the wheels, we used a propeller balancer and plumbers putty to balance them, and we yielded almost a 2km/h speed increase. The truck also seems to handle much better at full speed and is much more predictable. I would anticipate that this may even slightly improve run time and reduce wear.

Just thought I would share, maybe there are some that will find my findings interesting.

Thanks for sharing! I balance all of my RC wheels. I typically use a DuBro prop balancer and modeling clay instead of plumbers putty but I assume the putty is working fine. :thumbs-up:

Interesting and great job on the kit, she looks awesome.
