Your losi XXX-S sport is a fairly competative car out of the box. All you need to do is goto the losi website and use one of thier set-up sheets for the xxx-s for the application that your track is using ( i.e. parking lot track, carpet, etc... ). I really think that you got your money's worth considering that this is your first r/c electric sedan. Espeically with the electronics that it comes with ( esc, radio, and motor ). The good thing about losi is that most hobbyshops will carry parts for your xxx-s. You can also upgrade your losi to some of the more durable and light weight parts that losi has to offer. The TC3 RTR is a good car also. With shaft driven technology, its one of the best designs in the industry. I've seen both RTR's raced at my track and owner's of these cars are very satisfied considering that it was thoer first race and car also. Stick with it, practice, and most importantly, have fun. Goodluck.

Thanks!!! I checked out the site and the set-up sheet will be a great help.

You pick a fine car for starters there is plenty you can do if you get serious to convert it to the plus version it will run you an extra $120 but it's well worth it

Both the Losi and TC3 are excellent cars.Without the proper adjustments to the suspension and setup, they'll both pretty much suck. If you are planning to rac it, get yourself a HUDY or Integy setup board and get a Suspension tweak board as well. These are necessary if you want your car to handle correctly. Also, play around with the shock position, oil weight and tires.

Remember, every track is different and settings for rubber tires differ greatly from foams as well as when comparing asphalt to carpet.

It's a tedious task but ask around at the track what setups they use and/or suggest (ask the owners, they'll give ya an honest answer and not really hide any secrets). Just remember to enjoy.

I ran the RTR Losi indoor carpet tracks when my Pro4 was out of commission due to parts not being available & the Losi kicks ass out of the box with minor adjustments

I've actually heard from a couple people that the XXX-S Sport chassis, being plastic, can be easier to drive then the graphite one because of the flex. Not sure exactly how this could be, but it's what I've been told =)

I just got a XXX-S Graphite+ for carpet. Still in the box, I haven't built it yet. From what I can see though, Losi engineering seems pretty tight. Your setup will be a lot cheaper then mine and you'll probably drive it better then me too =)
