That song brings back some great memories for me. I was at summer camp the first time I heard it. And wouldn't you know it? It was a black kid that walked around with a boom box on his shoulder. I must have heard that song 5 or 6 times a day for 2 whole weeks. But everyone liked that song. He also jammed some other 80's rock and stuff too, which is funny to say because back then, it was just called rock 🤪

Crazy story, but anyway
A friend of mine who died last year was in a band called 'Spoon', and they always did this song. The lead singer was a complete psycho, but a damn good singer and guitar player. He embodied Stevie Ray Vaughan, but a much crazier, and scarier kinda way. The drummer had graduated from Berkley School of Music, and majored in percussion. He was actually playing a drum set given to him by the drummer for John Cougar Mellencamp, who gave him the drums for housesitting for him while on tour. They were all family friends from the French Lick Indiana area here. The rythym guitarist was an instructor at the Conservatory of Music here in town for a bit, then he quit and took a few year sebatical to Atlanta Georgia to learn how to play the blues (sold his soul as they say). The bassist, my buddy, always bragged about being the best bassist in Indiana. And he likely was. Anyway, they played this song and it was as good as the original. I was blown away. The show I saw earned a 5 star review from the local music critic, who wrote the articles about local bands for the newspaper. The guy never gave 5 stars, but he was raving about this band called Spoon. Anyway, I just saw this song popup in my feed and I remembered my buddy, and the one and only time I got to see him play live.

I saw a TON of live music from senior year in high school until really up into my mid-30's. Oh the stories from that jam band scene...always loved the brothers!

.....they must be sweating thier butts off.
That's suffering for your art, right there!

Reminds me of a time I filled in as Winnie the Pooh, when I was working at Sears as a teenager. It was so freaking hot in that costume! I could barely see where I was going, I was mobbed by rugrats, and at one point even lost a foot! 🤣
