I have a sick desire to test motors after seeing all the arguments about who has the fastest motor. So far, I have tested and compared about 11 motors. I only test and compare the 17.5 motors because they are the most popular in the racing world. I post all of my results on my YouTube channel.

My question is this, which motor is your favorite, or which one would you like me to test next. I can't do them all because I have to pay for these things, and they are not cheap.

Zenoah g230 with 26cc cyl head
Thats an engine, not a motor :p

Id like to see a Tekin 17.5 if you havent done one already.

Slot Machine 2 is another one I'm curious about.

an outlaw VS regular would be interesting, iv always wondered if it's just marketing or if they actually make more power. going to be in the market for a good 10.5, 17.5, and maybe/probably 21.5 early next year.

Since you asked... I'd LOVE to see how the REAL Team Checkpoint brushed motors stack up with some of today's contenders!
This is a TINY bit overpriced but IS the REAL design that I'm talking about.

Look at the time! I'm late! 🤣

I'd also like to see how some CHEAP fleabay motors compare to $$$ units!
This is a cool project! DEF will be watching!!! 😎😍👌

I'm not sure if we allowed to post our YouTube channel on here, but it is the same as my username on here.

I don't really compare and test motors. I just have fun lol.

B74.1D (racing indoor carpet and glued dirt) - Hobbywing V10 G4 13.5
22 5.0 Elite (racing indoor carpet and glued dirt) - Fantom 17.5 (unsure of which version)
Rustler - Hobbywing QuickRun 3652 SL G2 4000KV
Slash - Hobbywing EzRun 3660 SL G2 4000KV
Typhon (still in the process of building up and it has never ran yet lol) - Spektrum (4268?) 2200kv SL
Mini B - Surpass Hobbies 2435 6100KV SL (might have plans on either sticking with the same motor and get a new esc, or get a new 2in1 hobbywing mini fusion 16 which would be 3300kv)

My uncles cars:
XB4 (racing on indoor carpet and glued dirt) - Hobbywing V10 G2 6.5

Stick with me kid! If you thought R/C racing was expensive, let me show you VINTAGE R/C racing! 🤑🤣
I swear I've seen parts listed on fleabay, listed as "unknown" brand, unmarked pile of used junk in "lots" for $100 at a whack!
These Checkpoint motors were "race motors" Still approved on ROAR list I think too! 👍
Some ppl are a little "off" on the prices I think! 🤣
Maybe there really is a strong market for these overseas or something?
If this price is right, I could sell off my collection and pay off our mortgage! 🙄😎🤣

I would love to compare a brushed to a brushless, but my equipment will only test brushless.

have you seen the HW G4R? It performs much better than the G4. The Fantom had the highest RPM out of all the motors I have tested. It lacked torque, but gearing could make up for it. I haven't tested their newest offering yet.

Well, my YouTube channel is WutUp Clegg. I do all kinds of stuff on my videos like tuning troubleshooting motorcycle carburetors, building a portable solar panel system, RC, repairing appliances, creating Excel documents, and so on...

For RC, I show the following:
  • Motor comparisons
  • How I tune a motor
  • Friction differences between plastic gears and metal gears.
  • Difference between a thin gear and a full width gear.
  • Basics of soldering.
  • Why flux is used when soldering.
  • How to choose the right car for RC racing
  • How to choose the right equipment for RC racing

Yea I seen the G4R. Just running what I got. Me personally I don't feel like I need the latest and greatest equipment just for average fun club racing. Heck my uncle runs a 8yr old electronics setup and does just fine, when I get him to a track lol. And plus with me running a older version motor, I still ain't pushing it really to its full potential lol. I am so under geared compared to the other racers. But it helps me stay cool and it is a even setup for when I run at smaller tracks.

Yeah...
Many are always looking for the latest and greatest thing to make them faster. However, most of them need to be better drivers first.
