What is the advantage to having a side pipe over rear exhaust

That's a pretty clean looking setup hillfinger.

I used to take one of the Traxxas Heat Shields and run the pressure line through it, then ziptie it to the header just snug enough to keep it from flopping around.

It's not mine lol, its my nephews I though some might find the pictures of the side pipe setup helpful.

The pipe over the rear shock heats up the oil, and makes it dampen differntly. This is the reason people like slayden, use a side pipe, to get true performance out of there rear suspension. Some say the rear pipe on the revo is a shock cooker. When I get my picco, I will be going side pipe with a JP-3, for the same reasons.

Hey bryson , i got that setup on my revo and i am loving the look and sound and power of it , i am never going back to stocker pipes in my life, You definately wont be disappointed in the end results.
