I'm glad to say that my LD3 2 speed ofna car is running fine, i took it the store i got it from and the guy there told me i had a bad plug and the needle thing wasn't set right, all problems solved. But since i like things to look cool...the other day i noticed the antena from my LD3 had a chunk hanging to the side, so i took my scissors and cut the anoying thing off. Man i was so happy..but now the car wont respond when i presed the gas and steers as if it was twitching..the LD3 has an ofna "fail safe unit" on it and the light just twitches and stops...Did i just screwed up my car???

Uhhh....yeah. Simply put, the little chunk hanging from the antenna tube sounds like the antenna wire. The antenna wire in these systems is tuned to the frequency band of the transmitter. Shortening it will drastically change performance. And if you took a whole bunch off, it can be responsible for your troubles. Shortening the antenna wire dramatically reduces radio range and it sounds like you shortened it enough so that even slight distance puts things out of range.
You have 2 options.
1- buy a new receiver.
2-if you think you can handle it, you'll have to solder a new antenna wire to the rx. This is very tricky. It has to be the same gauge and lenght as the original. And when soldering it, you'll be working with printed circuit board which requires very steady and gentle work.

So that's my take...

I did this on my first electric with the exact same results. Luckily I still had the peice I cut off so it was easy to buy a replacment wire and solder it back on.

Candyman is dead on. You'll either have to buy a new receiver or get a length of wire to solder back on. Your LHS may be able to do this for you. doesn't hurt to ask them and it will most likely be ALOT cheaper than buying a new receiver for $40+.
