Hey guys its me again i am still having problems with my Tmaxx 2.5, it still doesn't want to drive forward or backwards with throttle input even at WOT, i have tightened the slipper clutch as reccomend and made no difference, but also with the spur gear i can spin it in both direcetion with no resistence, i know this shouldnt happen as my savage 25 has the slipper clutch adjusted right and when i move the spur on that it drives forward/spins the wheels.

Any input is appriciated, sorry for bring it up again.

p.s is it possible to just have the clutch on the wrong way? would it causes the no drive issues? or it more likely to be something wrong with the transmission?

tmaxx tranny

sounds like an internal tranny issue.. Take it apart and have a look inside.

Are you talking about a backward clutch on the engine? Yes you can get that one backward if you replaced it. Not really anthing you do backward on the slipper.

Is your tranny stock with reverse? A stock trans will allow the spur to spin in either direction without resistance as you stated.

Before taking anything apart. do some diagnosis and find where you're actually losing the power.

Do some simple checks first. Check for mising grub screws where the drive shafts attach to the trans and input on the diffs. Check the diffs, lift one end of the truck and rotate one tire by hand, the other should rotate the opposite direction. Try holding one tire still and rotate the other, it should try to move the tires that are still on the ground.

If this stuff is good, then it's time to take something apart. Start with the clutch bell and slipper. If no problem there, then it's inside the trans.

Thanks for the help guys, yes as far as i am aware the tranny is stock and the reverse is fitted. I did all the checks that Racer 1966 said and it still isnt any better, i tried to take the tranny off the truck but havent had any luck as i dont know how to remove the drive shafts from the transmission. How do i take them off?

Just thought i would up date the situation a little, i figured out how to drop the transmission off the truck and was able to open it up and take a look, everything looks fine, no chewed up gears or any signs of damage, so i put it back togeather and looks at the spur gear closely and noticed it looks a little chewed up, would this be the cause of the problems?

yeh i can if u like only i now have totally ruined hopes of a quick repair, my carb as just broke into 2 bits going to have 2 find a new one
