Tmaxx 2.5 questions

So I got a tmaxx 2.5 off a guy awhile back and have just decided to move it to the front of things to fix. It has alot of wear on it and needs some TLC...Lol already replaced the carb and a couple other issues, But anyway I had a couple questions about the tranny. First is it normal for the spur gear to spin in both directions without moving the rig? I read that it has to reach a certain RPMs (faster than you can spin with your finger) to engage, because it is a FWD and Rev tranny. Also my next question is does anyone know of a good way to hold the little knob/switch into the forward position because I don't have a servo to switch from fwd to rev an just want to hold it in fwd. and lastly I was thinking of getting the traxxas 2.4 , 2 channel radio and reciever or the skyfly FS-GT3b for it. Just something cheap to run the thing, nothing special like I said this thing has some wear on it. I just want it to run basically so while I drive my 3.3 or other cars my wife/nephew/ who ever can drive the 2.5....lol

If you don't want reverse, get the FOC kit. I haven't heard anything bad about the GT3B, I'd recommend it over the Traxxas 2.4 (I hate the flashing led menu). I'm willing to bet you'll end up using the Flysky as YOUR primary trx, and give the other one to whoever is running your other truck.

+1 on the foc, and it is normal for the spur to spin like that,as for locking the fwd/rev shaft,.....are you planning on running the rig real soon? If not then just order a cheap servo or the foc,the foc is like 12$ if you wanna run now then just use a piece of wire to tie off and lock it in place.

"Scrodmode" you were definitely right. Recieved the flysky in the mail today. Definitely will be using it or myself...lol I can't believe these things are so cheap. Pretty awesome for the price.
