i just got my truck back together and trying to tune it. i was driving it around a parkinglot and and it would let me do full throttle then it lets off on its own and kinda flutters around back and fourth. i replaced the batts in the car it didnt seem to help and the light on my remote is still bright and batts are not that old. but i guess I'm going to replace them also. any ideas on what this could be? and it only seems to do it when the engine is running i tried to get it to do it when the car just sitting still and the engine off but it wont do it??? any ideas?

Make sure there isn't a bad connection on the receiver or the battery and switch wires. Make sure the crystals haven't came loose. Look for breaks in your antenna, too. Also make sure there isn't any loose metal rattling around on the chassis.

well i replaced the batts and checked everything i can't figure out why its doing it think the servo could have went bad? it started after i ran it in the snow

it started after i ran it in the snow
"Here's your sign.":alarm:

I know it's tough to resist but running in snow or water is asking for it. As long as your steering works 100% then it's gotta be the throttle servo.

ya i just remembered thats when it started acting up.i thought it was when i wrecked it and broke the suspention but i wrecked because it wasn't working right but i thougt it was dead batts....know why it only does this when the engine is running?

How far away have you tested it with the radio off? Take a walk around where you rip and test the servos from a good distance.

I've had servos die slowly before. Sometimes they act ok until you start the engine, then the vibration from the engine will screw with 'em. Especially trx servos. If you have one on your throttle it might be a good idea to upgrade to a decent aftermarket one. Don't over-do it though, you want one that the failsafe spring can push back if something happens.

+1. The 2055 always seemed to have plenty of power for the breaks, so something in the 80oz range will do fine. By not going overkill on the power output of the throttle servo, you'll save yourself some dough and still be able to find a good, sealed, aftermarket servo.

Just a suggestion, I use a hitec 635 hb, it only has a bout 70 or 80 oz/inches, but is much faster and very easy for the spring to push back. I think it's ball bearing too and only about 30-35 bucks.

Sweet I've got another traxxas one I'm gonna throw on for now but gonna upgrade both soon. Need control arms and stuff first. Mine is a first gen with a os .18 on so it rolls rather easy just haven't had the money to do the suspention yet except the alluminum bulkheads just because I hit a house going very fast. Lol. That's when the throttle stuck open after the snow lol
