Wait, you guys in Maine observe Patriots Day? I thought it was solely a Boston thing.
I haven't seen or heard a word about it all day.
Def NOT a Maine thing!
My brother in law is running it with a couple friends this year.

You've lost me. Running what?

For the love of God, why?!!!!

The Lamoille Valley Rail Trail in VT had not been run, end to end before.
My sis passed from cancer. BIL needed a goal. I think it was a lot more of an inward journey for him than the run itself.
He had a lot of support, friends meeting him with supplies and a chair, riding or running along side for some lengths.
A whole bunch of us when to meet and join for the last mile.

It was really cool!

I don't run at all. Titanium femur and all attached fun.

saw an interesting one on my way home from work today.
i get about a mile from work and traffic is majorly backed up. that street does that for no reason sometimes. i see a guy approach a silver CRV about 6 cars in front of me. no idea why. i thought maybe he got out of the blue civic that was next to it, maybe a road rage incident. looked like the guy and the driver of the CRV exchanged words, guy on foot was noticeably mad. starts to walk away. I'm still thinking road rage incident. he gets in front of the civic then turns around comes back to the CRV has a very short heated exchange. takes a step back and KABLAMO! introduced the bottom of his shoe to the passenger door of the CRV. caved it in pretty damn good. and right across the body line under the window. he then proceeds to walk around the civic. I'm still thinking road rage he'll get in the civic. nope, he walked to the sidewalk and started walking down the street opposite direction of traffic like nothing happened but you could tell he wasn't happy. traffic started moving again, the CRV got into a left turn lane that goes into a parking lot for a shopping center. while i got the hell outta there.
welcome to So Cal.

My internet service provider keeps blocking sorrca.com as a suspect and dangerous site.
I highly believe it is a scam site. When I initially opened the site, it went through 3 or 4 redirects, then ended up on one of those websiteswith a bunch of fishy looking advertising links.

It may have neen a valid site before, but my guess is the site went down and a scammer snatched up the domain.

Right after that, I immediately checked in with scamadvisor, which initially came back with a 100% trust score, but it said it hasn't been scanned in quite a while. So I requested a new scan. The 2nd scan came back 100% negative.

So I tried going to the site again and I got the invalid or missing SSL, which is a bad sign. So I went back to scamadvisor and ran another scan. This time it said they have a 100% trust score, but now says the server if the site had some other shady sites reviewed on it.

That means since the site's last scan, either the site's server changed, or that server got overran with scammers.

Steer clear. Do not click anything there.

Also...

SORRCA.com (Scale Off Road RC Association) was the web home for a standardized set of rules and guidelines for competitive scale RC rock crawling. It focused on creating a fair, tiered class system (Classes 1-3) for scale realism, detailing build specifications, scale points, and competition rules, largely operating through a Facebook group and forums.

Core Purpose: To provide a universal rule set for scale RC competitions, ensuring fair competition and promoting realistic-looking trucks.
Rules & Structure: The group, often run by volunteers, defined technical specs like tire size, chassis design, and body requirements, primarily for Class 1 ("Street"), Class 2, and Class 3 vehicles.

Scale Points: SORRCA rules often included a detailed "scale points" system that rewarded rigs for having functional scale accessories (like winches, drivers, or lights).

Website Status: As of 2022, the official sorrca.com site was inactive during a, switch in hosting, with the organization, as suggested by a user on RCCrawler Forums, transitioning to using their Facebook group for rules and official communication.

Current Activity: The group continues to provide updated rules (e.g., 2025/2026 rules) on Facebook, navigating challenges with consistent rule interpretation as indicated by posts on Facebook.

So their website is no more, which explains why scammers latched onto it.

If anyone is looking for the 2026-2027 rules, you can grab everything here...
