Right on, for the record the Tenergy does have a servo checker. They both seem similar and the Tenergy had more reviews so I was leaning that way.

I’ll go for the one you dudes recommend and save the $5

Thats funny. I have the Ternergy one, and it doesn't have a servo testor.
 
IDk about the old ones but the new one can test servos but its not straight forward and you have to have a Y harness to make it work. The CellMeter 8 is easier to use as a servo tester, doesn't need a Y harness, and is cheaper than the Tenergy also. Just my :2cents:

The y harness seemed weird, I assume the balance lead doesn’t Provide enough juice to run the servo….
how do you power it to test the servo?

You plug the single end of the Y harness into the NiXX battery port and then plug the battery and the servo into the Y connector. Then you hold done one of the buttons (I think its the CELL button?) until it changes to a different menu and from there you can change the PPM signal. I think by using the other two buttons on either side of the cell button.

The CellMeter 8 has a built in plug on the other side of the unit for the servo and a wheel to change PPM signal. No Y harness or separate menu needed.

I would be curious to know how the Tenergy and the CellMeter stack up against each other when tested with a Fluke multimeter though.

I really like how that meter also includes a PPM meter which reads the latency of the radio... I have used this feature to compare frame rates between various brands of aftermarket Rx's to verify quality of signal. I have also used this feature to sniff out faulty wiring where servo connectors tend to go bad over time and need to be replaced where I've invested in a crimping tool as well:

I don't have the CellMeter8 but have used the PPM meter in my Sky RC 6 in One

Basically you disconnect the servo and plug the meter into Ch1 or any other open channel to get a reading in Hz

Then I used the following conversion to get into milliseconds which is what we call the frame rate for measuring the speed of the Rx:

If you look in the "Notes" column, I listed the framerates in MS for several budget brand radios that I owned at the time where they did not publish their frame rates and compared those to name brands who did publish their frame rates which I verified with other owners of those systems at the track in my area:
