Hey, so I'm still facing tuning issues even after reading many "articles" on tuning.
I'm 80% sure my car is running rich [a lot of smoke, does not wheelie, takes time to clear during WOT]. However, when I check the temperature, it fluctuates between 250-270 degree f and sometimes around 300. (Note:my temp gun is an un branded product) my question is whether it's safe to lean the mixture.

Does it cut out or flame out completely on a wot pass? Does the idle hang after a wot? If not then you can lean it out some more. If you don't trust your temp gun; try a drop of water on the engine head. If the water boils of instantly the engine is to hot. If it takes 2 or 3 seconds to boil off, its at a safe temp.

What do u mean by "cut out"? (Sorry I'm a newbie)

Cut out is like a brief shut off. A momentary loss of power.

Sounds like you need to start over. Reset your high and low needles to default settings and set your idle gap to a small paper clip.

Once that's done you'll have to consider the temperature where you live, then you can try to focus on the high needle and the high needle only.
After that's good you can begin work on the low needle and idle gap.

I agree with 2Revo1Maxx...set the needles flush/flush and start over. HSN, then LSN, then idle-stop (if needed).

If you're not doing wheelies....most likely your engine not properly tuned.

Also....what surface are you running on? That will dicate temps quite a bit.

I run on roads! Btw it's pretty hot here (around 40C)

Drragonx- I run also my onroad yesterday with LRP30 nitro engine and we are in same place(sharjah) but my temps only 220-230F . I really want to help you tune your truck together, I just want to help.
