Tamiya Semi 3 speed transmission

I am in the process of building an 1/14 scale replica fire engine, I am using the Tamiya 3 speed transmission, is there any way to have the sifter return to first gear instead of second like it currently does? I am limited on space and need to mount the gear shifting servo to the rear of the rig and would need to operate the shifter via cable but the only way I can do this is is it will return to 1st gear and the servo only has to pull to shift and not push.

my other thought was to replace the sift rod in the transmission with a longer one and make the connection on the rear of the transmission but i have not been able to locate a loner shift rod.

Unless you radio has a program function that satisfy's your function you will just have to live with what you have now.
