I have one of my snakes that is extrmely head shy. He's probably about 2 years old and I bought him from a pet store about 6 months ago. He had mites when I bought him and I treated that but I have been noticing he seems to stike me, or at least try to strike every time I raech into his tank. After I he makes this intial strike he mellow out but I really am getting tired of him striking at me every time I go to pick him up. I know not handling him will cause him to go pyscho but I only don't handle him when he's about to shed.

Here's a pic of him:

I used to be a manager for Petland so I have some knowledge on Reptiles. He'll strike if he has never really been handled before and kept in a tank and people keep hitting the glass will make him a little pisst. Put a tank over ur head and you'll see what I mean. Or he is not being fed enough.

I've been keeping snakes all my life and he's definately a one of a kind. I do agree with your logic. I honestly don't think the previous owners handled him much. I do tap the glass every now and then but I do that to all my snakes alike. I generally feed him a large rat every two weeks or so but since he just finshed shedding yesterday I opted not to feed him that past weekend so he's only a few days late for a feeding.

I did think this shedding cycle was rather unique, all 4 of my snakes entered their shed cycle at about the same time which really bummed me out not being able to handle not one snake at all until they were done, Now I have 2 done and 2 that'll shed within a day or two.

Ooops, he found a hole in my t-shirt and made it bigger. I'll generally keep my snakes in my t-shirt when I bring them to work. It's a good place to keep them close to my body getting them used to my body feel and scent and also a great conversation piece with my coworkers. I also have the great feeling that I can descreetly bring one of myt snakes to work without anyone really having a fuss. All of my snakes, including Deigo, really seem to like being in my t-shirt.

Anyway, I noticed that he was moving in my shirt and not doing laps. I reached behind my back, thinking I may have a plumbers crack but low and behold I had a now larger hole in my t-shirt.

3 red tails and a ball.

Pics of what? My snake? You wanna see my snake???

At my workplace I am the boss. I do have a boss but he rarely comes aroud. He tends to play hooky like I am doing today. At least til now, I have to go to work. I hate cell phones and I like them. Kind of a love hate relationship. At least I can get away with being at home since they called me on my cell and I didn't incriminate myself by answering my home phone. I'll be back later.

You just had to mention my boss. Now I had to waste an hour of my work day actually at work!!! The nerve of some people. This week is pretty odd for me. My boss asked for so many bodies of mine I gave him every singel one of them so I had no more he could ask for. As a result I literally don't have a mission or job of any sort this week so I am getting some well needed comp time.

Yes ur snakes. I like reptiles. I used to have an iguana and a couple of Lawson's bearded dragons.

SHe's beautiful! Love the dinner pic. Good luck with them.

nice looking snakes. not my pet of choice, but they are beautiful animals.

That would be why, though tomorrow I have to go in early and stay the entire day. It's looking like Thursday and Friday are going to be free days too.
