Taiyo Surf Bug from newbie

Hey ,
I found a Taiyo Surf Bug without remote.
I put 4 fresh AA bateries in the car.

Is something supposed to light up or otherwise show that the car probably works?

Or does it need the remote to light up or otherwise show some life?

The car itself looks to be in excellent physical condition.

not on that thing..now get a rx and see if it really works.. or switch all to modular electronics

I apreciate the response.

Do some RC's light up (with fresh batteries) and some don't?

I will go to the local hooby store next week and see if they can give an rx.

in the am version a 27 mhz radio will be hard to find there was only 6 stations or channels to use .. some of the new as in 90,s era radio might work not sure...I had a jr radio ex10 that would tune in both am/fm bands

i know losi had a am radio that you could tune to whatever channel 1 would need had a push button light board on back to show user what channel it was on.
